Asha Ault, Esq. is the Chief of Staff at the Office of Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining (OLRCB) where she serves as the Director’s thought partner for strategic planning and agency oversight. A trial attorney by trade, she has more than 16 years of experience in civil litigation in both the public and private sectors. Before becoming Chief of Staff, Asha was an Attorney Advisor for the agency, representing the Mayor and the D.C. government agencies in negotiations with and in litigation against the District’s labor unions.

Asha served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Trial Division at the Office of the Attorney General in the District of Columbia, defending the District and its employees against personal injury and civil rights lawsuits. Mrs. Ault also served as a Deputy Attorney General in both the Tort and Insurance Fraud Divisions at the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day management of the OLRCB Administrative Unit
• Serves as a member of the Director’s key management advisory staff and participates in the identification of needs of the agency
• Coordinates briefings for the conduct of management conferences between the Directors, Supervisors and other D.C. Agency Directors
• Reviews and analyzes policy proposals of major legislative organizations and other sources
• Oversees and coordinates the conduct of legislative liaison activities with the Council of the D.C. Office of Policy of Legislative Affairs
• Works closely with the Office of the Attorney General and other D.C. agencies to ensure legal sufficiency of proposals
• Prepare briefings and speeches for the Director of OLRCB for special events sponsored by the agency
• Serves as the agency Freedom of Information Act Officer, American Disability Act Coordinator, Family Medical Leave Act Coordinator
