Gail Heath is an Attorney-Advisor, who previously served as the Employee and Labor Relations Advisor for the Department of Public Works (DPW). A Chicago native, she has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Juris Doctorate from the Howard University School of Law. After law school, Ms. Heath spent nine years working in the labor movement for two different United Food Commercial Workers (UFCW) locals before transitioning to the management side of labor relations. Ms. Heath has served as chief negotiator for both union and management during her career and was part of national negotiations for Kaiser, serving as the union’s representative to the Kaiser Labor-Management Partnership. She also served five years on Prince George’s County Human Relations Commission, where she was the Vice-Chair. Prior to joining DC's Government, Ms. Heath worked for a federal contract security company, where she was responsible for the negotiation, implementation and enforcement of more than twenty collective bargaining agreements. In her spare time, Ms. Heath enjoys supporting her Chicago Bulls and Dallas Cowboys, reading, spending time with family, and enjoying moments with friends. She is also an avid baker.
